Thanks for the tag @firawren & @glassslippers-n-cowboyboots
1. How many works do you have on AO3? 45
2. What's your total AO3 word count? 208,023. And that's a bit surprising because a bunch of my longer fics are only on AHA or my website.
3. What fandoms do you write for? Mostly Jane Austen, all novels, Elizabeth Gaskell (Wives & Daughters), and Anne Bronte (The Tenant of Wildfell Hall). I have also technically written Oscar Wilde and My Happy Marriage, but those were very transformative.
I also have written some fics based on Kdramas, mostly for Alchemy of Souls.
4. What are your top 5 fics by kudos?
A Ride to Netherfield - Jane breaks her leg on the way to Netherfield and must stay for a month. Short one-shot (6k) and the first Pride & Prejudice variation I wrote.
Of Every Elizabeth - short and sweet Pride & Prejudice fluff, Darcy has nicknames for the plethora of Elizabeth's he's met over the course of his life (it was a super common name at the time)
Carry Me! - three vignettes of Jang Uk and Cho Yeong from Alchemy of Souls after they are married
The Fourth Bennet Sister - long fic (30k words), Pride & Prejudice variation where Kitty Bennet becomes aware that she is in a novel. She desperately tries to protect her sisters from harm.
All's Fair in Love and War - short Pride & Prejudice variation. Mrs. Bennet has weaponized compromise, men live in constant fear of being forced to marry.
5. Do you respond to comments? Yep. Every time.
6. What is the fic you wrote with the angstiest ending? Umm.... I'm not good at writing angst. I don't like characters to suffer for too long.
7. What’s the fic you wrote with the happiest ending? All of them?
8. Do you get hate on fics? Yes, because I dared to write Mr. Darcy marrying Anne Elliot. People get more angry about that for some reason than Elizabeth Bennet marrying Captain Wentworth in the same fic. Someone even told me Darcy would rather "throw himself off of Pemberley" rather than marry anyone other than Elizabeth. (Fic is called One Week Late)
9. Do you write smut? If so, what kind? I have written smut a few times, it's pretty vanilla because I am pretty vanilla. I was reading Victorian erotica when I wrote my longest one, A Little Before Their Marriage (Jane & Bingley fic).
10. Do you write crossovers? What’s the craziest one you’ve written? I constantly write crossovers, my first published novel is a massive crossover, Prideful & Persuaded. One of my fun shorts is Fall on the Sword, where every canonically single woman in Austen's novels decides if they want to try for the recently divorced Mr. Rushworth.
11. Have you ever had a fic stolen? Not as far as I know.
12. Have you ever had a fic translated? No, though someone did translate one of my meta posts from Tumblr. That was cool.
13. Have you ever co-written a fic before? Yes, The Marriage Contest with Branch Cloudsky and two with Amelia Marie Logan, Poor Caroline and Inferior Connections. All Pride & Prejudice fics, all funny. (You need an AO3 account for that one, the other two are on my personal website)
14. What’s your all time favourite ship? Catherine Morland & Henry Tilney. They are the only Austen couple I cannot bear to break up.
15. What’s a WIP you want to finish but doubt you ever will? I am writing a queer retelling of Emma called "Different Ways of Being in Love", where Jane Fairfax and Emma were lovers as teenagers, Jane is bi, Emma is a lesbian, and Mr. Knightley is ace, but I got stuck on the middle part. Someday hopefully!
16. What are your writing strengths? I'm told I write some pretty hilarious farces. I am told I do characterization well, which is my main goal when writing fan fiction. I try to stick as close to canon as possible.
17. What are your writing weaknesses? I don't write enough filler or develop things well enough. I like writing action.
18. Thoughts on writing dialogue in another language in fic? I would possibly try my hand at French, but probably never. I also have a lot of trouble reading accented speech (looking at you Wuthering Heights), so I'd probably never write it.
19. First fandom you wrote for? I am fairly certain I started writing a fix-it fic for Nineteen Eighty-Four after I read it in high school. Not sure I would be able to locate it but it did exist. The first since I started writing again was a sequel to Pride & Prejudice.
20. Favourite fic you’ve written? Probably Unfairly Caught (my other published work) or The Fourth Bennet Sister. I NEEDED to write a Mansfield Park fic because I hate the ending, so it fixed my dissatisfied feelings. My goal is to edit The Fourth Bennet Sister and get it published sometime this year.

yep, I'm doing it
temporary page for Bonnie "BonBon" Gillanders, oc for Bridgerton, and excuse the poor photoshop skills but she has scars and walks with a cane:
(it's a poor representation but at least you know where the scars are)
Triggers: ableism due to her mother and how certain elements of the ton may react, mostly, which can't be tagged because subtle and pretty much always present. She's "disfigured" and keeps the lower half of her face hidden under her mother's orders (her left cheek and part of her chin are scarred), as well as having a limp and chronic pain on her right leg, which means she holds a cane with her left hand. *She* is fine about it, though she gets understandably angry about her leg when it hurts too badly. Open to ship with: men as long as they don't try to make her act more serious.
how did she get here? Born in Scotland in a very rich family, she grew up as a very obedient child, until at age 12 her eldest brother Alexander Jr. (18) and elder sister Fiona (15) took her out with their carriage; they had an accident, the carriage rolled down a small cliff and she was the only one to survive. Her knee was permanently injured and she suffers from chronic pains and inflammations that keep her in bed, her face was disfigured, but other than that she was nearly unscated. Her father (Alexander), terrified at the thought of losing her, from then on kept her constantly in the house and barely let her go outside to protect her, seeing her as too damaged to survive it. Her mother (Joyce), ashamed and horrified by the way her now only daughter looked, kept her hidden for a different reason and forced her to keep a veil on her face every time people might be around, covering it from her nose down. They tried and succeeded at making two more heirs to keep the family line going (Michael and Alice), then recently inherited a fortune from her recently passed maternal uncle, with the condition that they'd take care of Bonnie's cousin Leandra Lees, and moved to London to start anew; now it's time to introduce Leandra to society and help her find a husband, and Bonnie (24 years old) would like to slip in, veil on her face or not, and see more of the world. She was followed by Mr. and Mrs. Grey, who take care of her at all times and have done so all her life (especially since she was left to her own devices a lot). (Leandra is the one who called her BonBon first, and it stuck.)
Personality:
She makes jokes. Stupid jokes, jokes at the expense of her limp, jokes about her various physical problems to make men uncomfortable. She laughs a lot and loves everything new she can see and find. She feels no shame or insecurities at all when it comes to her disability, perhaps because her mother does, but assumes she'll stay a spinster, and therefore while a bit shy with men due to inexperience, she tends to quickly make herself comfortable because she feels she has nothing to lose. Very lonely. Very romantic. Tried several hobbies and art and anything that could keep her busy, wrote to Leandra and anyone who would write back. Sometimes she embarrasses herself by speaking too much. The fact that her mother acts and talks as if she has some sort of contagious infection is both hilarious and annoying to her. The only thing that tends to make her lose her temper is when the pain in her leg is enough to force her back to bed (because she's human) otherwise she faces obstacles with humor, which generally makes her mother throw fits as she should be crying like her. She refuses to try to disappear and instead wears the most beautiful gowns and does her best to have fun.
If in need of a connection to get to know her in threads, you can assume she immediately befriended my Eloise, who is offended on her behalf at the thought that she is treated that way by her mother and, partly, by society for not 'respecting their antiquated and unrealistic beauty standards'. If you play Eloise, then it's Lady Danbury who introduces her.
modern verses
Replace carriage with car and her backstory is nearly the same, except that the reason why they didn't put her through cosmetic surgery despite having the money is that her body took years to recover from the wounds, with period infections and inflammations; she was very fragile and since the scars didn't cause her any particular grief the doctors postponed it. She was homeschooled ever since the accident for this reason as well as her parents still being, well, her parents, even if there would not be the same level of stigma anymore. Her parents still made younger kids, not because of inheritance (she can inherit, she doesn't have to marry, and she is more likely to find a husband in modern times) but because her mother could not accept having her as her only daughter.
Bonnie, torn between accepting disability checks and finding very low-paid jobs that would allow her to take breaks when the knee pain demanded it, and thankfully having the privilege to come from a rich family, decided to work towards the goal of working as a manager, with some occasional tutoring kids old enough not to need her being able to run around. She likes to keep busy, even if she has to be mindful of her chronic pain. In all universes her job accidentally leads her to discover far too much which is the only excuse I can find for her to interact with your muses as an otherwise completely normal person.
Informant in Chuck, maybe put to work at the Buymore in one way or another, Survivor in Lost who keeps her disability but is working on her mother-issues. In Fallout she could have entered the pre-war game as Charlie's manager, who was also convinced that Vault Tec was up to no good (and wouldn't have found place in many vaults as a disabled person), which meant reaching Moldaver, who instead took her in and pushed her to use her charisma to find more people for her project. She was put in cryo with Moldaver's group. Can't be a raider with a limp, she still managed to survive out of sheer luck and became a singer who knows everything about everyone (no, I'm not doing it on purpose to write so many people who can sing in the fallout universe, this is a coincidence because of her bridgerton backstory and the fact that I love the actress' voice)

thoughts on The Sandman (2022)
oh, you knew this post was coming. i haven't done a bullet-list-non-chronological-thought-post in a LONG time. so here i go! my thoughts on the sandman show, in no particular order.
(BEWARE: i have not yet read the comics, but now i intend to!!!)
first of all, i have not been so ENRAPTURED by anything in a long time. i binged watched for the first time with this show - i did NOT want to stop, and therefore made the poor decision to stay up until 5 in the morning - but it was worth it, i think, to have all the characters begin their lives in my head in one night.
let's talk about some characters, shall we? MORPHEUS! Dream of the Endless! (isn't that a badass name?) King of Dreams! i wanted him to smile so badly the entire time, and when he did - when he gave those tiny smirks around Death, and Hob, and i think some others - it truly paid off. an endless being who dresses in all black (rather like. neil gaiman) and speaks dramatically and never not once raises his voice... SO interesting, i want his outfits, etc.
the second one living rent-free in my various neural cortexes: THE CORINTHIAN! mainly because he's gay and looks cool, but we can go deeper than that. a nightmare personified! a nightmare who wants to be seen as something he is not - as a human! is that not THE queer metaphor? a nightmare who fears his destruction and whose creator says he was not made well? godDAMN!! also i want his outfits, etc, okay let's move on:
DEATH and DESIRE. death as an absolutely beautiful ray of sunshine giving comfort to the departed; desire as. as. a hot deceiver. what more can i say. death is wonderful and creates the BEST support for dream - she is the balance to his emo, you might say - and desire is just, you know, mason alexander park lol *dies on the spot*
LUCIFER MORNINGSTAR. is the lord of hell, and is very tall, and wears a leather jacket, and has an appetite for destruction. what more, pray tell, can i say. alright let's move on from characters because i want to talk about:
24/7. 24 fucking 7. the one that the comic fans, i have heard - and neil gaiman himself, for that matter - consider to be the darkest comic. and i've seen several of you say that the comic is darker than the SHOW, which is - astounding, considering i thought this episode was better than any horror movie i've ever watched. and it started off so innocently! i didn't know what to expect going in, and that made it SO MUCH WORSE when i understood what was happening. i think the moment where i just though 'yuck' and never stopped thinking 'yuck' was the "i fuck your son"; i literally just said "WHAT." and left my jaw hanging open for the entire rest of the episode. that is not a hyperbole - my mouth was open the entire fucking time. this is the world's darkest win for gay people, i guess. when everyone started going at it, i assumed the horror had stopped there - that the revelation of the truth led to new relationships, the ones that everyone actually wanted - BUT NO!!!!!! JOHN MCFUCKING DEE DID NOT STOP THERE!!!!! the idea that the revelation of our true desires leads to just... mass suicide in a diner, homicide, etc........ jesus fucking christ i LOVED that episode it slapped the shit out of my brain. i don't even know what that MEANS
anyway! *i brush the nonexistent dust off my shoulders* let's...... move on from that. i need to relisten to the soundtrack if i want to do any musical analysis, because let's face it, i was awake during the witching hours and i was NOT paying attention to those chord progressions. however, i DO remember that the music kept me engaged and fit very well with what was happening, so there's that.
this show also just, uh, slapped the shit out of my brain in ways i truly did not expect. because some of the moments were just so feel-good! the hob and dream sequence!!! (they're totally gay!) death!! rose and jed!!! and then there were just moments of - oh my god, the corinthian is taking jed into a serial killer convention. he's taking the 12 year old into a serial killer convention. jed's abuse at the hands of barnaby was also just one continuous 'YUCK' feeling; like, god, they really pulled that off didn't they. lyta's desire to leave the waking world to live with her husband in the dreaming.... her husband as a ghost in a place he is not supposed to be.... that is QUITE an exploration of grief, isn't it!! i'm going insane
three words: GREGORY THE GARGOYLE
i really love the juxtaposition of the endless and all the strange beings / creatures they encounter next to Humans Just Trying To Human. rose walker did not want ANY of this shit - she just wants to find her brother, maybe destroy part of the foster care system, have a nice apartment, etc. and then she meets dream of the endless, around whom you could not possibly act entirely human. john dee and johanna constantine truly feel like the in-between of "humans trying to human"; john dee has made himself into something not entirely human and is trying to put himself on-par with Dream, and johanna constantine is confidently facing demons. otherwise we have the endless, and dreams, and normal people. actually i suppose the corinthian is also one of the in-between - a nightmare who wants to exist as a human in the waking world, doing human things like Fucking That Girl's Housesitter
stephen fry was excellent as always. love when he gets to play an Extra British Man
let's talk about the queerness. i know this comic was queer from the beginning, and i cannot WAIT to experience that. i think there is a very subtle difference - a difference that we easily mistake, all the time - between queer characters added as tokens for representation, and queer characters added because the writers know and understand that queer people are a normal part of life. we may ask: is the queerness central to the plot? and in both these cases, the answer may be no; but one answers 'no' because the writers view the queerness as expendable or as a currency, and the other answers 'no' because the writers understand that queerness may be integrated into the story without being the story, that queerness is a fact of life. and i think we all know which one sandman is, and i deeply appreciate neil gaiman and everyone who worked on this show for that; it seems neil's been with us from the beginning, and learning along the way.
and with that, i will conclude this post. i love this show so much, and i cannot wait to get my greedy little hands on the comics.
